How to board your vehicle and scan your School pass
A guide on what you need to board the vehicle
School passes (RFID cards) are issued directly by your School for boarding purposes, if your School chooses to use them.
A school pass (RFID card) can only be linked to your child once you’ve created a Zeelo account and added your child as a “rider.” Each child’s school pass (RFID card) is unique, and only one card can be assigned to a child at any time. You can find the card’s unique number on the front, which is a string of 16 letters and/or numbers.
What should I do if my child’s school pass (RFID card) isn’t working?
Both Zeelo and your school keep a record of each student’s unique school pass (RFID card) number. If you think your child’s card may be incorrect, please contact us. We will be happy to investigate further. You can also check your child’s school pass (RFID card) number in your Zeelo account and compare it with the number on the front of their card. If the numbers match, the card is correct.
Remember:

Cards are unique, so using the wrong card can affect scanning and journey notifications.

Tap the card flat on the reader. Avoid stacking it with other cards (e.g., in a lanyard), as this can prevent it from scanning properly.
As long as you have a booking your School Pass will scan. If not, please check your upcoming rides section in the app/webpage to make sure you have valid bookings. If you are having issues, please contact us so we can investigate further.
Does my child need multiple school passes (RFID cards), if they use multiple routes?
No, you do not need a separate school pass (RFID card). Your child’s pass will cover all trips booked within your Zeelo account, no matter the route they are travelling on.
ℹ️Just so you know, not all Schools provide physical cards. If your School does not issue cards, you can board the vehicle using the QR code available in the app/web page. Please can you follow this guide here for more information if your school does not provide a school pass.
⚠️ If your child travels on multiple routes, you can check that their upcoming bookings are correct within the “My Rides” section of your Zeelo account. Please note, you will need to cancel any bookings for the same date/time to ensure you do not receive notifications for both routes.
